The PMP examination comprises 180 mutually exclusive, four-option of single-choice, multiple-choice and matching questions. The exam is designed to test for an understanding of how to apply project management practices to achieve project objectives.
The Project Management Institute requires that you meet some initial criteria before you are eligible to take the PMP exam. We have provided a separate article with a detailed listing of the PMP requirements. There are two sets of experience requirements depending on whether or not an applicant holds a baccalaureate degree.
For candidates who hold a baccalaureate degree:
– 4,500 hours minimum PM experience gained within the last 8 years before application and covering at least 36 unique, non-overlapping months are required. This experience must include leading and directing the project.
– At least 35 contact hours of specific instruction that addresses learning objectives in project management (After completing the PMP prep course with us, you will fit this condition)
For candidates who do not hold a baccalaureate degree:
– 7,500 hours minimum PM experience gained within the last 8 years before application and covering at least 60 unique, non-overlapping months are required.
– At least 35 contact hours of specific instruction that addresses learning objectives in project management (After completing the PMP prep course with us, you will fit this condition)
– Cost for PMI members is $284 (Middle East price).
– Cost for non-members is $555.
– PMI membership costs $109/year (Middle East price).
A recommended total of 9 weeks:
5 weeks: Studying and attending the course, including exam practice.
3 weeks: Practicing the final 9 full exams on Elite’s platform.
1 week: Scheduling and preparing to take the exam with PMI.

In addition to hundreds of pages of useful information, study aids, and references, our students also receive a 90-day subscription (with the option to extend for 30 days) to Elite’s online platform, which includes over 1,600 practice test questions in Arabic and English to each.
Candidates must complete an application. Candidates are encouraged to apply online at pmi.org.
Online applications are typically processed within five business days.
Once eligible to take the exam, the examination scheduling instructions received from PMI will instruct the applicant to contact PearsonVUE to select a date and location for taking the exam.
You may reschedule or cancel your exam if done at least two full days prior to your exam date. However, canceling or rescheduling the exam will incur a rescheduling fee.
Candidates who do not pass the exam may retake the exam two more times for a total of three times within one year of application approval. If candidates are not able to pass the PMP certification exam within their one-year eligibility period, they must wait one year from the date of the last attempt to re-apply for the PMP credential.
